Child Counseling & Play Therapy

Play therapy is a form of therapy that developmentally meets the child’s needs at an emotional, behavioral, and cognitive level. Play therapy is based on the relationship between the therapist and the child, allowing the child to explore thoughts, feelings and experiences in their natural medium of play. The toys your child chooses in the playroom become their words, and how they play with those toys becomes their language. This process allows your child to openly express their inner thoughts, feelings and emotions in a safe, trusting environment.

Pre-adolescents and adolescents often find it difficult to open up to an adult about struggles they may be facing at home, school or in extracurricular activities. Activity therapy uses a variety of games, activities, and tools to provide a safe, inviting environment for your teenager to explore their thoughts and emotions.

Pre-Adolescent & Adolescent Activity Therapy

Family Counseling & Therapeutic Parenting

Family Therapy refers to involving the whole family, or several members together, in the counseling process to work on developing positive relationships and interactions between family members.

Therapeutic Parenting and Parent consultation allows the parent to express progress and/ or concerns with counselor to provide a greater understanding of the child’s needs. It also allows the counselor to educate the parents or guardians on tools that can be used outside of counselor to achieve treatment goals.

Counseling is a therapeutic relationship between the counselor and client to achieve set goals derived from presenting concerns such as grief, anger, and childhood pain. This process can help you establish your life through a nurturing process. In individual counseling, you will work with your counselor to generate a more comprehensive understanding of how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors impact your life and your relationships.

Group Counseling

Group therapy is often delivered in a setting of 3 - 10 members with the intent to explore, change, and develop interpersonal relationships. The group dynamic allows individuals an opportunity to process struggles with others who can relate and empathize.
