About Nicole

With more than 12 years working in the mental health field, Dr. Nicole Gordon Vargas works with individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life. Nicole believes that people have the tools they need to make changes in their own lives, and she works with her clients to discover those tools. Nicole looks beyond routine interactions and patterns that make clients "stuck" and helps clients discover strengths and new ways of relating to others. Clients have described Nicole as compassionate, non-judgmental, and as a "gentle challenger."

Dr. Gordon Vargas earned her Master's degree and PhD from Nova Southeastern University in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has spoken at national and international conferences on a wide variety of topics in the mental health field. Nicole has also acted in editorial capacities for academic journals, dissertations, books and magazines, as well as appeared as a guest on a podcast and local television show to talk about "loving what you do" and her work with cooking therapy. Nicole serves as an active clinical member of several associations including the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (founding member), and Relational Therapists of Dallas. As a state board-approved and AAMFT-approved supervisor, Nicole is also passionate about supervising and mentoring other therapists to help them help others!
