About Kayla

Change can be challenging and can come with a variety of feelings. Kayla provides a safe and non-judgmental space to process the changes in the seasons of life. As a trained couples therapist, Kayla focuses on the system and how to make necessary changes to benefit your relationship with your partner, family, and children. Kayla works with individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds with cultural sensitivity and care.

Kayla earned her B.S. in Sociology from Texas A&M University and then went on to receive her Master’s of Marriage & Family Therapy at Abilene Christian University with a focus on couples and relational challenges. Kayla is certified in Prepare-Enrich premarital counseling for dating and engaged couples. Kayla is a second-career therapist as she was in corporate accounting for over a decade across many different industries before choosing to make a career change. This enables Kayla not only to understand financial issues that arise in relationships with her clients, but also to understand that making significant life changes as an adult is a thoughtful and difficult process.

Specialties include: Couples, millennials, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem, grief and loss, family issues, relationship changes, and blending family challenges.
