About Jodi

Counseling begins with having the courage to take the first step toward change. Jodi’s initial focus is to provide a safe, trusting environment to explore avenues of growth and development. Using a variety of techniques and activities, she strives to meet the individual needs of her clients. Jodi’s experiences within the counseling field have allowed her to work in a variety of settings helping clients of diverse backgrounds, ages, and presenting concerns.

Jodi earned a B.A. in Psychology and with a minor in Sociology from The University of Oklahoma She received her M.S. in Counseling at Southern Methodist University. She is a doctoral student at Texas A&M University-Commerce working towards a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. She currently holds a 4.0 GPA and was invited to become a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, The Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement, and The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi for her outstanding academic achievements during her doctoral program.

Additionally, she has received training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Animal Assisted Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Humanistic Sandtray Therapy. Jodi has spent the last several years working in non-profits agencies, school counseling centers, and psychiatric hospital settings. Jodi works with individuals ages 3 years old and above.

Specialties include: anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, parenting, relationship issues, self-esteem, self-injurious behaviors, stress, suicidal ideation, and victims of abuse (emotional, physical, sexual).
